MAKING MEMORIES
S.T.E.M. Challenge
Working in small groups of 2, 3 or 4, students have begun working on a new S.T.E.M. challenge. Working together they have to design and build a boat that can hold 100 gold coins and float.
Art Detectives
We are beginning our learning about "The Group of 7", Canadian landscape artists. We looked at images of paintings created by the group of 7. We discussed what elements of art we saw and recorded these in a list. With this knowledge students worked in pairs to identify the group of 7 piece of art from a selection of images. We will be exploring their art more closely and then creating our own landscapes in their style. I can't wait to see what the students create.
Pumpkin Art
We used chalk pastels to create pumpkin art. Most are pumpkins at night but a few students chose to make pumpkins during the day time. They really make it feel like fall in the hallway.
More Ways To Read
This week we had our first library visit and got to check out some new books. Our Library Day will be on Tuesdays so please help your child remember to bring their books back when they are ready for new ones. On Friday we enjoyed a different way to read. We closed the blinds, turned out the lights, got a flash light and a stuffies and found a cozy place to relax and read. Flash Light Friday's was a big hit. We can't wait to do it again next week.
